Letter to the President
The Bill of Rights 12/15/1791
Dear Mr. President,
Today our nation has truly distinguished itself from all other nations having officially ratified the Bill of Rights. The democratic government we have sought to create has become even stronger as we have protected it from any form of tyranny by granting the American people these most basic rights. Our nation has, in its short existence, already become more advanced than its European counterparts who continue to rely upon their ancient monarchical and tyrannical forms of government whose sole purpose is to selfishly gain power and silence the people. Little do they know that a properly functioning government derives its power from the people. Since our great revolution and our gaining of independence, our great nation of America has become the birthplace of freedom and liberty, something lacking throughout the rest of the world. Its unselfish mission: to create a land with equal opportunities, countering the nonsensical European hierarchal societies.
As for the Bill of Rights, it is not the last piece of the puzzle. Probably the most outstanding thing about our nation will prove to be its ability to compromise and progress. Unlike nations who have been stagnant for years, advocating only the most conservative of views, America is and has been open to change and progress. We, as a nation, will not limit ourselves to certain boundaries, we will continue to thrive and prosper. So far we have already made incredible decisions that would sicken the corrupt European monarchs. We have granted our people rights never before granted, created a stable and just democratic government, and proven our ability to survive independently, all a result of great leadership and public support.
I would not be surprised if in a half century America leads the world in political, economical, and social affairs as a result of the framework we have so brilliantly established. It will be America’s mission to spread its democratic principles to new nations in attempts to bring about a new and more advanced world ruled with liberty and justice for all. I have no doubt that you, Mr. President, will do an excellent job in illustrating America’s destiny to other nations and proving our pride in our country not misplaced.
Sincerely,
Your Friend and Supporter,
